A seasoned producer and engineer with many years’ experience, Ted Richardson has the proficiency to understand what a band or songwriter is looking to achieve with their sound, and has the skill and artistry to help them get it. He is a musician and multi-instrumentalist with a deep comprehension of voice, guitar, bass, drums, percussion, piano, and electronic instruments, and he makes it his business to help artists exceed their own expectations. Having mentored under Shelly Yakus (John Lennon, Tom Petty, U2) and Artie Kornfeld (co-creator of Woodstock, Capitol Records, writer, producer), he has learned his craft from the best of the best, and continues to collaborate with them on special projects.
Ted’s home base is his well-appointed studio Philadelphia, PA which is chock full of great gear and instrumentation. He also produces and records in various other studios, and runs live sound in venues and for events across the country and overseas. He is a master of live recording and live sound, traditional recording techniques, and new technology. He is great at working with full bands as well as singer-songwriters, and is skilled at writing arrangements. Ted has an incredible stable of musicians he calls on regularly to help achieve the sound his clients are after (amazing drums! soaring strings! blaring horns!). He has also mixed and mastered recordings for clients from all over the planet.
Ted likes to talk about what he does for a living a whole lot. If you have any questions or want to discuss a project with him, email him through the contact page on this site, or call him at two one five, three two seven, five zero six four.
